About Alison

The professional side:

I'm a cross-pollinating problem solver who started in industrial design and pivoted to business administration - then kept learning. I earned a specialized MBA certificate in Design and Innovation Management, plus professional certificates in AI strategy from MIT and prompt engineering from Vanderbilt.

Over 17 years, I've worked across seven industries, from scrappy startups to multi-billion dollar corporations like Steelcase, Brunswick Corporation, and Daymon Worldwide. I've built sales channels from scratch, led $120MM product lines, and spent most of my career balancing the tension between future growth strategies and current profitability needs.

What does this add up to? I'm a systems thinker who meets teams where they are. I work with leadership to identify what they're trying to achieve, then figure out how to get there with what they actually have. My training and personality have turned me into a bridge builder - I help initiatives maintain momentum instead of getting stuck between departments.

The personal side:

I'm built to keep moving. You'll find me training for duathlons, hitting dynamic workouts, or leaning into corners on a motorcycle track. When life gets complicated (and it always does), I fall back on what athletics taught me early: obstacles are just part of the course. You keep showing up, keep chipping away at challenges, and find a way through.

At a young age, I was trained as a peer mediator and it shaped how I see conflict. Instead of avoiding tension, I learned to help people work through it. That instinct has stuck with me - friends call when they need someone to listen, and teams seem to trust me to navigate the tricky conversations that could derail projects.

When I'm not problem-solving for work or training for something, I'm usually planning the next trip or finding a good patio where I can sit with a beverage and actually slow down for a minute. I love being near water - there's something about it that resets my brain.

People sometimes expect me to be more intense based on my track record, but I'm actually pretty laid back. I care more about whether the team is functioning well and people feel heard than I do about being the smartest person in the room. The best solutions usually come from listening anyway.
